What we love so much about this design are two things: 1) the tribute to canned sardines / fish, a staple in virtually all non-vegetarian or vegan Portuguese households, and 2) the way this design features so many wonderful places in Portugal, from the north to the south, from the coast to the interior part of the country. We are particularly thrilled with the can from Aveiro, the “Venice of Portugal” (see second image). It’s a charming, small city about 45 minutes south (by car) from Porto, but more importantly, it’s right next to Ílhavo, the town where our family is from and where they still live.
